NIB Launches Training Course for Claims Officer Hopefuls
January 13, 2021 - NIB has launched an 8-week training programme for external candidates who were selected for the 2021 Claims Officer training programme. Over the next 8 weeks, the candidates, who come from diverse career backgrounds, will learn the National Insurance legislation, claims processing, mathematics techniques and the NIB computer system. The competitive course features a number of examinations, which must be passed in order to be chosen for the available slots for claims officers. The candidates will be exposed to the claims processes for both long-term (i.e. retirement, invalidity, disablement and survivors) and short-term (i.e. unemployment, industrial, maternity, funeral and sickness) benefits and assistances. At the opening session, NIB Director, Dr. Nicola Virgill-Rolle wished the candidates every success in this course.
